Born and raised in Chicago, Katherine is a native American accent speaker. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Film at Columbia College, studied acting at Carnegie Mellon University, the acting conservatory program at The Steven Ivcich Studio and improvisation at Second City and The Groundlings. In Australia she is a graduate in Voice Studies at Victorian College of the Arts.
As a seasoned animation voiceover actor, Katherine’s worked on Sea Princesses, series 1&2 (Southern Star), Zigby (Flying Bark), CJ the DJ (Kapow Pictures), Gasp!, Davincibles, Just Being Eve, Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs, Skinner Boys and Teenage Fairytale Dropouts (SLR).
Katherine works regularly with actors as a voice and dialect coach. She has taught at The Actor’s Hub, The Actor’s Pulse, Screenwise and ISA. Katherine has worked as a dialect coach for various theatre productions around Sydney including Dirty Blonde (Darlinghurst Theatre), Sexual Perversity in Chicago (Pandora’s Box Productions), That Pretty Pretty; Or, The Rape Play and Savage in Limbo (Workhorse Theatre Company). Most recently Katherine has served as the Dialect Coach on the feature films, The Scrying and Infini.
As a frequently sought after American accent coach Katherine is passionate about the study of accents. She’s learned first hand how to speak authentically in an Australian accent and brings that experience and knowledge to help Australian actors find authenticity, confidence and conviction with their accent and their voice.
